Delicious and soft buns made from yeast dough do not necessarily need to be baked in the oven - they can be cooked in a frying pan. The buns are airy, tender, porous, with a golden crust, and do not go stale for a long time. Such pastries can not only be served with morning tea or coffee, but also used as an alternative to bread. The cooking process is quite simple, even a beginner can handle it!

Total time: 120 minutes | Cooking time: 40 minutes | Yield: 5 servings

INGREDIENTS

1. Egg - 1 pc

2. Sugar - 1 tbsp

3. Yeast - 2 tsp

4. Salt - 1/2 tsp

5. Flour - 420 g

6. Water - 600 ml

7. Vegetable oil - 1 tbsp

Step By Step Cooking Process

STEP 1

Pour warm water (about 40 degrees) into a deep container. Add sugar and stir until completely dissolved.

STEP 2

Then add yeast and stir.

STEP 3

Leave in a warm place for 5-7 minutes.

STEP 4

Add egg and salt.

STEP 5

Stir with a whisk until light foam forms.

STEP 6

Add flour (preferably sifted) in parts, stirring each time.

STEP 7

As soon as the dough begins to form a lump, transfer it to the table and knead it thoroughly for about 5-6 minutes.

STEP 8

The dough should be elastic and not stick to your hands. Form a ball out of it and put it back into the bowl.

STEP 9

Cover the bowl with a plastic bag or cling film and leave in a warm place to rise for about 1 hour.

STEP 10

After some time, the dough rose well.

STEP 11

Take the dough out of the bowl, knead it, roll it into a roll and divide it into 5 equal parts.

STEP 12

Grease the frying pan with vegetable oil. Roll the pieces of dough into balls and place them in the frying pan, close to each other. Cover with a kitchen towel and leave for 15 minutes.

STEP 13

Then put the frying pan on minimum heat and fry the buns for about 7 minutes, until golden brown. At the same time, bring about 400 ml of water to a boil.

STEP 14

Lift the edge of the bun with a spatula. If the bottom of the bun is well browned, pour hot water into the pan with the buns so that it covers the bottom of the pan by about 1.5 cm.

STEP 15

Cover the pan with a lid and cook the yeast dough buns on low heat until the liquid in the pan evaporates.

STEP 16

The yeast buns in the frying pan are ready. Remove the buns from the frying pan and let them cool down a little.

STEP 17

You can put the buns upside down on a plate. They look more appetizing with a golden crust. The crumb inside is airy and porous. Serve the buns with tea, adding jam or butter if desired. Enjoy your meal!
