Hello everyone! I'm sure you've bought a hot dog with sausage more than once - it's a great quick snack on the street. But few people know that there are many varieties of hot dogs and it's not just a bun with sausage!
In America, in large cities, hot dogs are prepared with their own additives and fillings, one thing remains unchanged - a bun and sausage. Today I present to you a recipe for a hot dog with sausage in the Chicago style. A distinctive feature of this hot dog is that ketchup is not added to it.

Total time: 20 minutes | Cooking time: 8-10 minutes | Yield: 1 servings
INGREDIENTS
1. Tomato – 1 pc.
2. Onion – 1 pc.
3. Pickled gherkins – 3 pcs.
4. Sausage (beef or pork) – 1 pc.
5. Hot dog bun – 1 pc.
6. Mustard - to taste
7. Chili pepper - 1 pc.
Step By Step Cooking Process
STEP 1
Cut the tomato into thin slices.
STEP 2
Peel the onion and finely chop into cubes.
STEP 3
Cut the pickled gherkins lengthwise into 2-3 pieces.
STEP 4
Place the unpeeled sausage in a saucepan with water and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
STEP 5
Open the hot dog bun and dry it in a frying pan on low heat for about 3 minutes on the inside. Then put the sausage in the middle of the bun. Additionally, you can secure the bun on one or both sides with a wooden spatula. This will allow the hot dog to be as stable and whole as possible.
STEP 6
Place 3 tomato slices on one side of the sausage and a couple of gherkin slices on the other side.
STEP 7
Place the chopped onion on top of the sausage.
STEP 8
Drizzle mustard in a zigzag pattern over the entire bun and filling.
STEP 9
Place chili pepper on top.
STEP 10
Chicago Hot Dog is ready.
Enjoy your meal!
