Some dishes feel like a quiet conversation. Warm, simple, honest — as if they welcome you back home. This tomato cream soup is one of them: slow, cozy, gently crafted by hand. A bowl that proves comfort lives in the smallest details.

Total time: 35 minutes | Cooking time: 20 minutes | Yield: 2 servings
INGREDIENTS
1. Canned tomatoes (peeled) - 200 g
2. Onion - 1/2
3. Garlic - 3 cloves
4. Olive oil - 2 tbsp
5. Salt - to taste
6. Sugar - small pinch (optional, for balance)
7. Black pepper - to taste
8. Oregano - to taste
9. Hot water - 200 ml
10. Cream 20–30% - 30 ml (optional)
11. Basil - a couple of leaves (for serving)
Step By Step Cooking Process
STEP 1
Heat olive oil in a saucepan. Add chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent. Add garlic and warm it for 20–30 seconds.
STEP 2
Prepare the tomatoes. Chop them roughly — shape doesn’t matter. Transfer to the saucepan, add salt, sugar (optional), and black pepper. Cover and simmer for 10–12 minutes until the tomatoes collapse.
STEP 3
Pour in 200 ml of hot water. Stir and simmer for another 5 minutes.
STEP 4
Turn off the heat. Let the soup rest for a minute. Mash everything with a fork to create a “hand-crafted creamy” texture — soft, but alive (this makes the soup warmer and more personal than machine blending).
STEP 5
Add a splash of cream and oregano. Stir and serve warm. Top with a basil leaf.
May this warm bowl remind you that comfort often comes from simple gestures. Come back anytime — the next flavor is already waiting.
